Upcoming Events

Two primary goals of our section are to enhance the legal skills and international knowledge of Texas lawyers and to promote awareness of best practices involving international law and affecting the public interest. We create relevant and meaningful networking opportunities for ILS members throughout the year with our in-person or online CLE events, mixers and Annual Institute.

Our Leadership

One of our section’s goals is to promote the reputation of Texas lawyers as world-class practitioners domestically and internationally. Unlike many of our fellow sections in the Texas Bar where all of their members practice in the same area, the International Law Section’s lawyers cover many practice areas. ILS members are litigation and transaction attorneys; they practice immigration law, compliance, oil and gas law, trade law, arbitration and even employment law. Get to know our ILS Council leaders.

International Human Rights Committee

The Texas Bar International Law Section created the International Human Rights Committee (IHRC) in August 2015 – the first of its kind among state bars, with the goals to study legal issues related to international human rights, inform Texas lawyers of these issues, and provide guidance to these Texas lawyers.
